A movie projector in this time of year is almost indispensable. Now the cinemas are closed, the more colder weather outside and having nothing to do, you probably want to cuddle up on your sofa with a good movie. You can create your own home cinema with our DIY movie projector so you can watch the best Christmas movies on a big screen together with your housemates.
You will need:
- A shoebox
- A magnifying glass
- Hot glue or tape
Step one: Unscrew your magnifying glass.
By taking off the handle from the magnifying glass, you will remain with the lens itself. You will need this for the projector.
Step two: Center your lens on the shoe box.
Take your lens, and place it on the side of the shoe box. Center it in the right position, trace a line around it. Now you can cut out the circle with the scissors. Your lens should fit even with your shoe box lid closed.
Step three: Secure the lens with hot glue or tape.
Take your lens, put it in the hole and secure it with some hot glue or tape if you don’t have hot glue. Make sure nothing of it covers the lens, because this will be the main thing of the projector. Make sure no light can escape around it, so fix this with tape if you see any holes.
Step four: Place your phone in the projector
To project a movie from your projector, it is necessary to place your phone in a holder to keep it up. Turn your phone on rotation lock and look for a movie you want to watch. Make sure to place your phone upside down, otherwise you will see the movie in the wrong way. To focus the picture, move your phone back and forth until you have the perfect vision.
Step five: Enjoy your movie
Watch your favorite Christmas movie, just as you would watch it in the cinema. Make sure you project it on a white, even background to get the best results. Enjoy!
